Direnium vs Retell AI for Hebrew Voice Agents: Platform or Product?

#The short answer

Retell AI is an American developer platform. It lists Hebrew, charges about $0.07 a minute before the language model, and gives you APIs, a no-code studio and a wide choice of voices. What it does not give you is an Israeli phone number, an Israeli CRM, WhatsApp or anyone who speaks Hebrew. You or a developer assemble those.

Direnium is an Israeli platform for one agent or a few. You set the agent up yourself in a few minutes, it calls you so you hear it in Hebrew before paying, and the subscription includes the Israeli number, 300 minutes and a WhatsApp agent on the same number, from ₪1,450 a month before VAT. Fireberry, monday, Origami, Kaveret, Fix Digital and LeadMe are connected out of the box, data is hosted in the EU and never used to train models, and support is in Hebrew. Choose Retell if you have a developer and want to own every component. Choose Direnium if you want the agent answering this week.

• Hebrew. Retell lists he-IL for its speech recognition and voices, but not every provider covers it: Deepgram does not transcribe Hebrew, and among ElevenLabs voices only v3 speaks it, at $0.10 a minute. You pick the providers and test the result. Direnium is Hebrew first, with English on the same call, and you hear it on a real test call before paying.
• Phone number. Retell sells numbers only in the US and Canada. For +972 you bring your own number over SIP from Twilio, Telnyx or another carrier. Direnium includes an Israeli number.
• Calls. Both do inbound and outbound. Retell has a dialer with Do Not Call checks built for the US registries. Direnium records consent and opt-outs and calls only in the hours you set.
• WhatsApp. Retell lists WhatsApp as an unofficial connector through Zapier, Make or n8n, for messages after a call. Direnium puts the same agent on WhatsApp on the same number.
• CRM. Retell connects HubSpot, Salesforce, Zoho, Dynamics 365, GoHighLevel and Calendly natively; monday goes through an automation platform; Fireberry, Origami and Kaveret are custom functions you write. Direnium connects the Israeli CRMs out of the box.
• Setup. Retell’s quick start is titled “build your first phone agent in 15 minutes”. The Israeli parts, SIP telephony and CRM functions, are the technical work. Direnium is a form, a test call and a subscription.
• Support. Retell’s pay-as-you-go plan comes with community and email support; dedicated support is for enterprise. No Hebrew support is stated. Direnium’s support is in Hebrew.
• Data. Retell holds SOC 2 Type II and HIPAA and says it does not operate services in the EU; data is processed in the United States. Its no-training commitment is tied to enterprise agreements, so ask what applies to your plan. Direnium hosts in the EU, encrypts transcripts with a second layer and does not train on your calls.

#What 300 minutes a month costs

On Retell, 300 minutes is roughly $35 to $45: the voice engine at $0.055, standard voices at $0.015 and telephony at $0.015 a minute, plus the language model billed separately per minute and a $2 number, all from the pricing page. That is about ₪110 to ₪140 before the SIP carrier for the Israeli number, before VAT, and before anyone’s time. On Direnium the same month is ₪1,450 with the number, the minutes, the CRM connections and WhatsApp included.

• You have a developer who will build, test and maintain the agent, including Hebrew testing.
• You run thousands of minutes a month and the per-minute price matters more than setup time.
• You need a specific LLM or voice provider, A/B tests, or deep API control.
• Your CRM is HubSpot, Salesforce or GoHighLevel and your callers are not in Israel.
