Data Objects
Pipelines & Data Triggers
Pipelines
A pipeline is a Kanban board over a data object. You define stages in sequence, for example "New → Reviewed → Approved → Closed", each with a color. Records live in exactly one stage at a time.
Create pipelines in Settings → Data. Once a pipeline exists, the data object gets a Kanban view under Business → Pipelines where you can drag records between stages.
Data triggers
A data trigger fires a workflow when a record changes. Typical triggers:
- A record moves to a specific stage ("when an Application moves to Approved, send the welcome email").
- A field value changes ("when the deal's value is updated, notify the owner").
- A record is created or deleted.
Set up triggers in Settings → Data. Each trigger points at one pipeline or one object and one stage or field. The triggered workflow receives the changed record as its input.
Example: an onboarding pipeline
An agency might build a "New Client" pipeline with stages: Intake → Contract → Kickoff → Live. A trigger on Contract → Kickoff fires a workflow that creates a Slack channel, sends the welcome email, and schedules a kickoff call, all automatically.
